Ole Miss lands at No. 18 on the Associated Press Top 25 poll after the hot start to conference slate. The Rebels are 3-0 after back-to-back wins over No. 10 Auburn and No. 14 Mississippi State last week.

This season Ole Miss was picked last in the preseason poll. This is the first time the Rebels have been ranked since 2013.

In the coaches weekly teleconference coach Kermit Davis said the national recognition is great for Ole Miss basketball and for recruiting to the program.

“Everybody in the locker room understands that it starts in practice to play like that in a game,” Davis said.

Davis also said junior Breein Tyree is recovering after injuring his shoulder early in the game against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

“He was limited in workouts on Sunday with a joint bruise. He will go through practice today to prepare for the LSU Tigers,” Davis said.

The Rebels and Tigers square off on Tuesday at 8 p.m. inside the Pavilion.
