The Ole Miss Rebels women’s basketball team defeated the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats 55-49 in the Lexington, Kentucky last night in a feat of pure determination.
Ole Miss (7-11, 1-3) picked up its first win over a ranked opponent since the 2011 season.

“Today was our time,” she said during the press conference yesterday.
The Rebels defensive held the Wildcats to 27 percent from the floor in the game and forced nine steals.
Senior Crystal Allen had another strong performance for the Rebels with a total of 28 points. In the first half, Allen only scored two points, but after halftime she found her stride. She made 16 points in the fourth quarter.
Junior La’Krais Salter had a double-double on the afternoon with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wildcats held the Rebels to 36 percent on the day. In the final 10 minutes of action Ole Miss went 9-for-10 from the charity stripe.
