The following reports were made Jan. 11-13, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 52 tickets, investigated 15 wrecks and the following reports:

5 careless driving complaints

13 disturbing the peace complaints
1 domestic disturbance
1 harassment
1 improvement
1 malicious mischief
2 motorist assists
9 other agency assist

1 simple assault
12 suspicious activities
3 suspicious persons
2 suspicious vehicles
3 vehicle searches
8 welfare checks
OPD officers made the following arrests:
3 DUIs
1 DUI, speeding and no insurance
1 DUI-second, careless driving, no driver’s license, no insurance and seat belt
1 failure to comply and domestic disturbance
1 minor in possession of alcohol and fake ID
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, no tag light and driving while suspended driver’s license
1 possession of marijuana
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule 2 drug
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and one headlight
2 for shoplifting
1 suspended driver’s license and no insurance
1 switched tag and warrants served
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated seven wrecks and the following reports:
10 alarms
1 animal complaint
2 disturbances
1 petit larceny
2 harassment
1 malicious mischief
10 service calls
7 suspicious activities
1 vandalism
7 welfare concerns
8 transports
1 follow-up
1 fraud
1 reckless driving
4 civil matters
6 summons served
2 natural deaths
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 writ to take custody
1 simple assault warrant
University Police Department investigated two wrecks and a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
1/11 – 6:40 p.m. & 16:55 p.m. – Wilson Art – canceled
1/11 – 7:30 a.m. – Hwy. 7 South – wreck with injuries – provided first aid until EMS arrived, then remained on scene until the highway was clear
1/11 – 15:43 – 413 Washington Ave. – call canceled
1/11 – 18:40 – West Jackson Avenue past Highland Place – one-vehicle wreck with the vehicle smoking
1/12 – 12:42 a.m.- 309 Country Club Road – a fire – there was an unknown crack between the fireplace and the floor in front of the fireplace, the fireplace fire spread to the floor joist under the floor. FD pulled the floor up and extinguished the fire
1/12 – Oby’s – medical call for an employee who had fainted – patient was awake upon arrival – firefighters monitored vitals until EMS arrived
1/12 – 4:57 p.m. – Highway 7 South – wreck with one vehicle on fire – everyone was out of the vehicle
1/12 – 5:32 p.m. – Price Hill Cove – patient with trouble breathing – monitored vitals until EMS arrived
1/12 – 6:09 p.m. – 715 Molly Barr Road – patient pulled into OPD parking lot having chest pains and trouble breathing – FD provided oxygen and monitored her until EMS arrived
1/13 – 7:12 a.m. – The Armory, Ed Perry Boulevard – air handling unit No. 4 alarm malfunction
1/13 – 8:54 a.m. – The Lyric – under construction – the power had been shut off triggering the water flow alarm
1/13 – 6:30 p.m. – Oxford Wheel Estates – call canceled
1/13 – 8:50 p.m. – Roosters Bar & Grill – medical call – EMS arrived at the same time and took care of patient
