Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest for felony fleeing and investigated the following reports:

University Police Department made one arrest for speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired driver’s license and investigated two reports of a suspicious vehicles.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
12:11 p.m. – 100 Azalea Garden Drive – call canceled
1:34 p.m. – Old Taylor Road and Oxford Way – tree limb on powerline and smoking – no fire, stood by for electric department
7:37 p.m. – The Blake – resident fell against the door – FD opened the door
8:43 p.m. – Hwy. 6 / 7 area – caller advised she heard a loud crash and thought a vehicle was down a deep ravine – a deer was hit, the driver was found at the Hwy. 334 exit, he was ok
