Celebrating the Life of Margaret Anne Boyer
The life of Margaret Anne Boyer, who over more than 50 years became a well-known figure in Oxford and the University of Mississippi, will be remembered Saturday afternoon in a memorial service at Oxford-University Methodist Church.
The service will be held at Oxford-University Methodist this Saturday, January 5, at 4 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Eddie Rester, pastor of OU Methodist, and pastor emeritus Warren Black.
Prior to the service, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a reception at the Pi Beta Phi sorority house on Rebel Drive. Mrs. Boyer helped organize the Pi Phi chapter at Ole Miss in 1961. This event is open to all who knew Mrs. Boyer (not only members of the sorority or university community), and parking will be available close to the sorority house.
After the memorial service, there will be a reception in the OU Methodist church hall. Mrs. Boyer and her husband, Dr. Roscoe Boyer, were lifelong members of the church.
Thanks are due to Oxford-University Methodist, Rev. Rester and Rev. Black, and to the members of Pi Beta Phi, led by Elizabeth Williston Webb and Gail Collins, for their generosity in honoring Mrs. Boyer.
