Vincent Boot & Shoe, founded in 1952, has spent more than 60 years serving the Oxford community with quality shoe-wear and is now celebrating a location change. Previously located across the street from Kroger, the store is now a staple in the Eastgate Plaza on University Avenue, next to Larson’s CashSaver.
The Vincent Boot & Shoe staff said they are extremely satisfied with the result of the move.
“We have a lot more vision and activity down here, and our sales have already almost doubled,” said Kelsey Gregory, manager of Vincent Boot & Shoe. “We try to beat everyone’s prices and keep them low. Everything in Oxford seems to be overpriced and we try to avoid that.”
Although the move is helping Vincent’s business, their ability to have affordable boots in a competitive town is what is keeping them a trusted business. Brands offered at the location include Carhartt, Justin Boots, Rocky, Wolverine and Walls.
Gregory wants community members to know Vincent Boot & Shoe offers a larger catalogue than just footwear. Though Oxonians can find a various array of quality footwear, the store also offers clothing gear for outdoorsmen and women for hunting and fishing excursions. The family-owned store also full of discount T-shirts, camouflage and work wear.
“There are five Vincent Boot & Shoe’s in America but we are the only one in Mississippi, so it’s special to us to be in Oxford for so long,” Gregory said. “We also feel it’s important for the community to know that we are a Christian-based company.”
Gregory said she hopes the new store location and broadened inventory will continue their success for the next 60 years.
Vincent Boot & Shoes is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
