Noted as one of the oldest sports, lacrosse is set to make its debut to the Oxford-Lafayette community this coming spring.
The club will be offered to students in grades 3-12 with boys and girls teams to both the Oxford and Lafayette School Districts.
Trey Medlock who is helping form the club told HottyToddy.com that teams will be playing each other in the lower age groups while the older teams will play against schools and teams in Memphis and Birmingham areas.
The Oxford Lacrosse Club is open to anyone who wants to learn the stick and ball game. With it being a club sport, scholarships will be available among other resources that have been set aside for those who need financial assistance.
The club does not want to limit participation, according to Medlock.
Informational meetings have been planned for Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Lafayette High School and Thursday, Dec. 20 at Oxford High School with both informational meetings slated for 6:00 p.m.
