The Oxford Civic Chorus hosts its 2018 winter concert featuring the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, Dec. 9 beginning at 3 p.m. in the David H. Nutt Auditorium. The auditorium is located across from the Gertrude C. Ford Center.
In addition to the performance, the chorus is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. William Ardrey, current director and chorus director at Oxford High School, said it is a great deal that the chorus has been around for such an extensive time.
“We are lucky to be a part of a vibrant arts community here in Oxford,” Ardrey said.
This is Ardrey’s fourth year with the chorus. He said he is most excited to be working with all the individuals who are a part of the choir.
“I am most looking forward to working with the choir, soloists, and orchestra to bring a timeless piece of music to the Oxford community,” he said.
Ardrey said attendees can expect an amazing performance from the chorus.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the UM Box Office, which is located inside the Ford Center.
