The Ole Miss men’s basketball team returns to the court Saturday as they welcome in the ULM Warhawks. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. on the SEC Network+.
Ole Miss (4-2) will don a new powder blue uniform as they look to continue the high shooting percentage against the Warhawks after a 93-86 win over San Diego on Wednesday. Coach Kermit Davis’s squad had five players score in double-figures as Breein Tyree led the way with 22 points.
Senior guard Terence Davis added 20 points in the game that resulted in his 15th 20-point game.
The Rebels enter the game at No. 23 on the Ranked Power Index, according to CBSSports.com.
ULM enters Saturday’s contest with a 3-3 record following an 80-52 win at Northwestern State on Tuesday. The Warhawks have played five of their first six games on the road, including matchups at Texas and Michigan State. Battling the Rebels will wrap-up a four-game road trip for ULM. The Warhawks do damage from beyond the arc on both ends of the floor. Starting on defense, ULM holds opponents to a 26.8 percentage from long range to rank 19th nationally.
Ole Miss leads the all-time series 15-4 with wins in the last 12 meetings. The series began in 1969 with ULM claiming the lid lifter 85-80 in Oxford before the Rebels rattled off three straight victories over the next three seasons. ULM won the next three matchups from 1973-1990. After an eight-year hiatus, the series started back up in 1998 as the two schools began an annual meeting that lasted for the next 10 years and resulted in 10 Ole Miss wins. This decade, the Rebels have won both games with victories in 2011 and 2013.
Fans can watch all the action on the SEC Network + or listen to the call on the Ole Miss Sports Radio Network.
