The following reports were made Nov. 16-18, 2018, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies.
Oxford Police Department issued seven tickets, investigated eight wrecks and the following reports:
5 alarms
1 ambulance assist
1 burglary
2 careless driving reports
1 civil matter
1 counterfeit currency
3 disturbing the peace complaints
2 false pretense complaints
1 identity theft
1 scam
3 simple assaults
4 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
OPD officers made the following arrests:
1 embezzlement
1 warrant served
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:
1 alarm
2 animal complaints
1 petty theft
1 harassment
3 malicious mischief complaints
2 service calls
2 suspicious activities
2 welfare checks
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 out-of-county warrant
1 domestic violence with simple assault
University Police Department made no arrests and conducted one traffic stop.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
9:48 a.m. – Highway 6/7 intersection – wreck with injuries
3:03 p.m. – 223 St. Andrews Circle – workers sawing activated a smoke detector
5:41 p.m. – Broome Loop Brittany Woods area – caller advised someone burning was close to structures – was a legal controlled burn
1:20 a.m. – 120 Anderson Road – medical call – provided oxygen and monitored patient until EMS arrived
4:29 a.m. – Highway 315 – one-vehicle wreck with entrapment call – upon arrival there was no in or at the vehicle – after investigation, found the driver had already been transported to hospital
