Rebels’ Greg Little Named Semifinalist for Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award
Ole Miss’ junior left tackle Greg Little was dubbed one of 13 semifinalists for the 2018 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler announced on Friday.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
The Allen, Texas native has anchored the Ole Miss offensive line over the last three seasons appearing in every game at left tackle. Little is thought to be one of the top prospects for the 2019 NFL Draft. He earned second-team All-American at the midway point by Sports Illustrated, USA Today, Associated Press and Athlon. He is also on the watch list for the Outland Trophy.
Ole Miss is just one of nine teams in the NCAA that has started the same five offensive linemen in every game this season. Ole Miss ranks fifth in the country in total offense and fourth in passing yards. The Rebels are second in the SEC in scoring offense, averaging more than 37 points per game.
This season, Little has blocked for an offense that has a quarterback with 3,000-yards, a 1,000-yard receiver and a 1,000-yard running back.
