The Oxford Courtyard Marriott’s Green Roof Lounge is a gem among Oxford’s restaurant scene. Conveniently located atop the Marriott hotel on Jackson Avenue, this restaurant offers views of the university and The Square along with a comfortable ambiance for visitors and locals alike.

The rooftop restaurant features both indoor and outdoor patio seating. Outdoor guests can choose to sit on the high-top granite tables or comfy low couches.
“The beautiful view from our outside patio is definitely a favorite among customers,” said Manager Katie Redditt. “There is no other restaurant in Oxford that offers a view of the whole city.”
In July, Green Roof Lounge underwent a staff and menu change which led to the hiring of new Head Chef Keiona Jackson. Jackson brings a revamped ‘new southern cuisine’ to Green Roof Lounge, converting the restaurant tapas and appetizer focus to full course meals.

Jackson crafts an array of modern dishes including a buttermilk marinated and southern fried chicken breast served with skillet mac and cheese and collard greens, Chardonnay chicken served with mashed potatoes and flash-fried brussel sprouts and more.
For the customers who favored the old menu, Green Roof Lounge offers an array of delectable, shareable appetizers including crab cakes topped with a crawfish remoulade, grilled chicken flatbread with fire roasted bell peppers and creamy alfredo sauce, and hand-breaded okra pods served with a house-made buttermilk herb dip.
Graham Harrell, head bartender, said he puts a lot of time into making the cocktails (like ‘You and Tequila, ‘Strawberry Basil Martini’ and ‘Honey I just Can’t Pear It’) delightful and refreshing.
“We only use the freshest ingredients in all of our cocktails,” Harrell said. “All of our syrups are made from scratch.”

The restaurant is open Tuesday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 3-10 p.m.
