Oxford Crime & Fire Reports for Nov. 2-4, 2018

The following reports were made Nov. 2-4, 2018, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies.

Oxford Police Department issued 45 tickets, investigated 20 wrecks and the following reports:
5 911 hang-ups
9 alarms
3 animal complaints
8 careless driving complaints
1 civil matter
20 disturbing the peace complaints
4 domestic disturbance
5 improper parking complaints
3 larcenies
9 lost property reports
5 malicious mischiefs
5 motorist assists
9 other agency assists
2 phone harassments
2 simple assaults
15 suspicious activities
6 suspicious people
3 suspicious vehicles
1 trespassing
6 vehicle searches
5 welfare checks

OPD officers made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence with simple assault
3 DUIs
1 DUI and careless driving
1 DUI, careless driving, no driver’s license
1 DUI, open container, possession of drug paraphernalia
1 DUI, no driver’s license and no liability insurance
1 DUI, no liability insurance, speeding and fake ID
1 DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and one headlight
1 DUI, possession of a Schedule 1 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 DUI and speeding
1 failure to comply
1 fake ID
1 malicious mischief and disturbing the peace
1 minor in possession of alcohol
2 minors in possession of alcohol and fake ID
1 noise violation and open container
1 possession of schedule 2 drug
8 public drunks
3 public drunks, fake ID
1 public drunk, fake ID and false identifying information
1 public drunk, fake ID and resisting arrest
2 public drunk and failure to comply
1 public drunk, malicious mischief and possession of a Schedule 2 drug
1 public drunk and simple assault
1 simple assault
1 simple assault, failure to comply and profanity in a public place
1 warrant served, speeding and no liability insurance

Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department reports were not available Monday.

University Police Department investigated three wrecks and the following reports:
1 hazing
6 ambulances needed
1 EMS needed for an intoxicated person
2 loud music complaints
1 service call
1 petty theft
2 intoxicated people
3 disturbances
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of alcohol by person under 21
1 sexual battery

UPD officers made the following arrests:
2 for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and failure to comply
1 trespassing
1 public drunk

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
11/2 – 10:26 a.m. – Northgate – shower steam activated the smoke detector
11/2 – 3:42 p.m. – Highway 7 ramp – small wreck helped EMS with one patient who had been hit from behind
11/2 – 4:52 p.m. – South 18th Extended – wreck with injury – provided first aid until EMS arrived
11/2 – 6:56 p.m. – 528 Fazio Drive – caller thought their 7-month-old was choking – baby was not choking – monitored until EMS arrived
11/2 – 11:48 p.m. – Turnberry Condos – subject fell causing a cut on his head – refused any treatment
11/3 – 01:45 a.m. – Cellar Bar – subject fell down about 10 steps – refused treatment
11/3 – 06:14 – a.m. – Phi Mu house Room 27 – smoke detector malfunction
11/3 – 07:40 a.m. – Highway 6 east – wreck with no injuries
11/3 – 2:48 p.m. – Stockard Hall Laundry – overloaded washing machine belt smoking
11/4 – 4:25 a.m. – Canterbury Crest No. 113 – cooking activated the smoke detector
11/4 – 10:49 a.m. – 299 West Jackson West area – wreck no injuries
11/4 – 12:16 p.m. – Highway 6 East Lafayette Springs Road area – wreck call canceled
11/4 – 12:37 p.m. – 1011 S. 11th Street – caller left a tray on a hot eye causing it to catch fire they put it out but wanted FD to check and make sure everything was OK
11/4 – 12:52 p.m. – West Jackson and IHOP – wreck with minor injuries
11/4 – 3:10 p.m. – Oxford Intermediate School – duct detector malfunction
