Ole Miss, South Carolina End First Half Tied

Ole Miss and South Carolina put a total of 54 points on the scoreboard in the first 30 minutes of action inside the Vaught Nov. 3. At the half, both teams went into their locker rooms tied at 27.
South Carolina put the first points on the board by taking the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. Ole Miss quickly answered with a field goal off the boot of Luke Logan.
The Gamecocks then scored 14 unanswered points.
Running back Scottie Phillips scored the first touchdown for the Rebels in the second quarter from 9 yards out. That cut the score to 21-10.
On the Rebels next series Logan connected on a 26-yard field goal.
South Carolina’s quarterback Jake Brentley found wideout Bryon Edward’s for a 75 yard touchdown. Ole Miss senior quarterback Jordan Ta’amu scored on a 17 yard run to get within four points.
Phillips scored the last touchdown of the half on a one yard dash to tie it. He scored two touchdowns in the half.
Ta’amu passed for 270 yards and carried the ball 13 times for 75 yards and one touchdown.
Ole Miss ended the half with a total of 434 yards while South Carolina had 316 yards on offense.
