Oxford Crime & Fire Reports for Oct. 31, 2018

The following reports were made Oct. 31, 2018, by city and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise indicated.

Oxford Police Department issued seven tickets, investigated 13 wrecks and the following reports:
2 alarms
4 ambulance assists
5 careless driving complaints
1 civil matter
7 disturbing the peace complaints
1 motorist assist
1 phone harassment
2 suspicious activities
3 suspicious person
1 suspicious vehicle
1 vehicle search
3 welfare checks

OPD officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI
1 DUI and speeding
1 malicious mischief and disorderly conduct
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
3 public drunks

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated three wrecks and the following reports:
6 disturbances
2 harassment
1 juvenile complaint
2 service calls
3 suspicious activities
1 transport
1 trespassing
3 informational reports
2 civil matters

Deputies made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence with simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct
2 possession of drug paraphernalia

 University Police Department investigated one wreck and investigated the following reports:
2 intoxicated people
1 vandalism
1 ambulance assist

UPD officers made the following arrests:
1 for public drunk and fake ID
1 for public drunk, possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and possession of a fake ID
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia
1 for public drunk

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
7:44 a.m. – 234 Hwy. 314 – assist with a diabetic patient until EMS arrived
8:11 a.m.- Have House again – fire alarm pull station cover still broken which causes an activation
12:30 p.m. – Home 2 Suites – call canceled
1:55 p.m. – Highland Square – truck leaking diesel fuel – maintenance put oil dry the fuel
3:37 p.m. – Oxford Grill House – call canceled
4:23 p.m. – Phi Kappa Tau house – call canceled
5:11 p.m. – Autumn Ridge No. 36 – smell of gas – call unfounded
8:22 and 8:47 p.m.- First Presbyterian Church – power outage activated the fire alarm
10:21 p.m. – Phi Kappa Tau house room #1 – smoke detector malfunction
4:36 this morning – Wilson Art  -sprinkler water flow alarm malfunction
