Oxford Police Department issued two tickets, made one arrest for minor in possession of alcohol, investigated seven wrecks and the following reports:

Deputies made the following arrests:
1 possession of paraphernalia in a motor vehicle
1 careless driving and possession of paraphernalia in a motor vehicle
1 domestic violence with simple assault
1 driving with suspended driver’s license
1 careless driving and suspended driver’s license
University Police Department made no arrests, investigated one wreck and the following reports:
2 suspicious person
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of alcohol by a person under 21
1 possession of beer by person under 21
1 car fire
1 noise complain
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
07:58 – Guyton Hall parking lot – car is smoking – speaker wires shorted out and smoking
08:06 – 500 Donna Cove – oven element shorted out
08:42 – Chancellor Hotel Spa – duct detector malfunction
10:59 – Hwy 6 West – grass fire call – fire was out upon arrival
14:42 – Oxford High School – smell of smoke in the building – no fire, smoke coming from a controlled burn in the area
01:05 – Molly Barr Ridge – possible vehicle fire – OPD on scene, battery cables melted and smoking
