Ole Miss’ Shandricka Sessom Named to Preseason Second-Team All-SEC
Ole Miss redshirt senior Shandricka Sessom has been tabbed to a Preseason Second-Team All-SEC spot for the second straight season, SEC league coaches announced on Tuesday.
Last season, Sessom suffered a season-ending knee injury against Middle Tennessee in the first quarter. Prior to the game, the Byhalia, Mississippi native was averaging 17.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest with five double-digit scoring games and a season-high 24 points vs. Delaware State.
She is heading into her final season for the red and blue with 1,131 career points scored in 99 career games played, making her one of just 29 Rebels to ever break the 1,000-point mark. Sessom currently sits at 24th all-time scorer in program history.
The Rebels welcome into the Pavilion LeMoyne-Owen College Nov. 2 for an exhibition game at 3 p.m. The regular season tips-off at home against Norfolk State on November 6.
