Ole Miss heads into its bye week after a 31-16 loss to the Auburn Tigers at home on Saturday.
The Rebels (5-3, 1-3) look to use this week for self-evaluation and healing, head coach Matt Luke said at his weekly press conference on Monday.
“We play four games in 19 days,” Luke said. “This is a big week for us looking at what we have done well and not done well.”
Luke said he looks to have those on the injury report—C.J. Miller, Victor Evans and Ross Donelly—back on the field for the Nov. 3 matchup against South Carolina.
Ole Miss will look at what Luke calls “critical factors” to improve on this week—third down conversions and red zone opportunities.
“We’ve got to make sure that we put our players in the best opportunities (in the red zone),” he said.
The Landshark defense gave up some explosive plays after halftime as the front seven failed to stop the run game. Luke said the first three drives of the second half ended up costing them the game.
Ole Miss returns to action Nov. 3 as they host the South Carolina Gamecocks. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on the SEC Network.
