1 shooting from roadway – two men shooting in the air
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence with simple assault
1 disorderly conduct
University Police Department made no arrests, investigated five wrecks and the following reports:
1 fire assist
1 suspicious person
1 larceny
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
9:19 a.m. – Highland Place – turned heat on for the first time activated the smoke detector
9:53 a.m. – State Veterans Home – an employee accidentally bumped a fire alarm pull station
10:26 a.m. – Guyton Hall – a candle being blown out activated a smoke detector
10:26 a.m. – The Uncommon – a towing company hit a water pipe with the boom activating the water flow alarm
10:53 a.m. – Lenoir Hall kitchen – cooking activated a smoke detector
10:55 a.m. – Hermitage Gardens – call cancelled
10:53 a.m. – Highway 7 – wreck with extrication
6:29 p.m. – North Oxford Baptist Church room 121 – smoke detector malfunction
7:01 p.m. – The Retreat area of Anderson Road – wreck – checked for injuries and stood by for EMS
10:12 p.m. – 465 Olive Branch Way – turned heat on for the 1st time
00:01 a.m. – Campus Walk C-103 – dryer vent smoking outside the building
