Oxford Man Charged for Possessing a Reported Stolen Firearm
The Oxford Police Department arrested an Oxford man recently for being in possession of a stolen firearm.
According to reports, on Oct. 11, officers received information that a Jeremy Lovelace, 31, of Oxford, was a suspect in a burglary.
Investigators located Lovelace at this last known address. A gun was discovered at the house and Lovelace said it belonged to him. Officers ran the serial number on the gun and discovered it had been reported stolen.
Lovelace then stated that he had recently purchased the gun from another person.
Lovelace was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he charged with one charge of being in possession of a stolen firearm and booked on a $5,000 bond.
