Two men charged with burglary of items and a dog
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department arrested two brothers Thursday for allegedly breaking into a county home and stealing numerous items, including a dog.

James Haiden McRaney, 23, and Stephen Craig McRaney, 26, were arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling.
Chief Investigator Alan Wilburn said the burglary happened on Sept. 9 and that the dog appeared to have been the main target during the burglary and there appeared to be an ongoing feud with the homeowner.
The McRaneys were taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where they booked and later released on bond.
