
Traxler earns the award on the heels of her first career cross country meet, where she won the individual title in the women’s 4K at a time of 13:24.71 – currently tied for the top 4K time in the conference. Her performance helped lead the Rebels to a second-place finish in the women’s team standings.
Bethmann, meanwhile, was named SEC Men’s Freshman Runner of the Week following his third-place finish at the SEC Preview, helping the Ole Miss men to the team title as one of five Rebels to finish in the top-10. Bethmann ran a 6K of 17:59.51 in his first career cross country race at Ole Miss, which is currently the third-best 6K time in the SEC.
The Rebels return to action in Boston next Fri., Sept. 21, for the Battle in Beantown, hosted by Boston College.
