Traditions continue as gameday in the Grove quickly approaches. The Ole Miss Rebels face off against the Southern Illinois Salukis Saturday, Sept. 8 for the first home football game of the year.

Fans will flock from all over the country to be a part of the best 10-acre tailgating spot in the country. What is so unique about Ole Miss gamedays? Some would argue fancy Grove attire plays a big part in the social aspect and overall experience.

Ole Miss fans have always dressed in their finest red and blue to celebrate football Saturday. Taking a quick glance in the Grove, you’ll notice girls wearing high heels and pearls and men in bowties and suits. It’s simply an Ole Miss tradition.

However, traditions always evolve. In recent years Ole Miss Athletics has established a “What To Wear” calendar for fans. The calendar tells fans which color they should sport for a specific football game:

  • Sept. 8 NAVY
  • Sept. 15 POWDER BLUE
  • Sept. 22 RED
  • Sept. 29 RED
  • Oct. 6 NAVY
  • Oct. 13 NAVY
  • Oct. 20 RED
  • Nov. 3 NAVY
  • Nov. 10 NAVY
  • Nov. 17 RED
  • Nov. 22 RED

WEAR NAVY this Saturday!
