The Great 38 Race Offering 15 Percent Discount on Registration Today
The Great 38 Race weekend is a staple in the Oxford community that commemorates former football player Chucky Mullins who sustained a life ending injury during an Ole Miss football game.
The run is scheduled for Oct. 26-28 and those interested in signing up can receive a 15 percent discount on Labor Day. Use promo code “Labor_38” at checkout to receive the discount.
Participants can choose to run the 5K, eight mile (Saturday) or half marathon route (Sunday), which can be found here. Each start line begins at the University of Mississippi and ends on the 38-yard line at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Run Oxford, along with UM Athletics in partnering with Palmer Home for Children to make The Great 38 the most meaningful and inspirational run in Mississippi, the website reads.
The race benefits the Chucky Mullins Foundation, which assists Ole Miss students who have a physical disability or demonstrate exceptional financial need. Along with registration runners can purchase discounted tickets to the Tailgate for Palmer Dinner held the evening after the race in the Field Level Club of Vaught Hemingway Stadium. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the children of Palmer Home, according to the website.
