The following reports were made Aug. 30, 2018, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies.
Oxford Police Department issued 30 tickets, investigated six wrecks and the following reports:

4 disturbing the peace complaints

3 motorist assists
1 phone harassment
1 recovered property
3 suspicious vehicles
2 suspicious people
2 vehicle searches
1 welfare check
OPD made the following arrests:
1 DUI, speeding and no insurance
3 public drunks
1 public drunk, fake ID and possession of drug paraphernalia
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest for burglary, investigated four wrecks and the following reports:
2 animal complaints
1 residential burglary (CR 1015)
1 grand larceny
1 petty larceny
1 harassment
1 juvenile complaint
2 service calls
1 suspicious activity
1 welfare concern
4 transports
3 informational reports
2 unauthorized use of a vehicle
1 traffic complaint
1 reckless driving
1 civil matter
University Police Department investigated two wrecks and investigated the following reports:
1 disturbance
1 disorderly conduct
1 vehicle fire
1 fraud
1 reckless driving
2 medical calls
1 suspicious vehicle
UPD officers made the following arrests:
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and running a stop sign
1 possession of alcohol
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
At 9:46 a.m. – 1200 Office Park Drive – medical assist
At 3:03 p.m. – 416 North 11th St. – small grass fire
At 3:26 and 7:08 p.m. – South Oxford Center (old BMH) – Tech working on the alarm system
At 8:27 p.m. – Sorority Row / West Jackson – for a reported a car fire, however, the car was just overheating
At 8:38 p.m. – Residential Hall 1 room 135 – burned popcorn set off alarm
At 11:29 p.m. – ATO House – steam from the laundry room activated the hallway smoke detector
