The Ole Miss Rebels begin the 2018 football season with their first game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday, Sept. 1. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. in Houston, Texas.
For those diehard Rebel fans who might not be able to travel to Houston, several Oxford businesses on the Square are prepared to air the showdown. Here’s where you can catch the game, a cold drink and a bite to eat while cheering on the Rebels.
The Lyric
The Lyric’s watch party is set to begin at 10 a.m., an hour before kickoff. The event space will project the opening game on the venue’s 28-ft. screen for viewers to enjoy.
The venue will serve mimosas, bloody mary’s and $4 tallboys for attendees to enjoy as the Rebels take on the Red Raiders.
Rafters Music & Food
Rafter’s hosts its “Ole Miss Kickoff Brunch” that also begins at 10 a.m. The game will be projected onto the big screen, and the upstairs restaurant and bar will offer its regular brunch menu that includes $3 mimosas and $5 bloody mary’s. Entry is $10 at the door.
Funkys
The daiquiri bar, where Katy Perry famously jumped off the bar during the 2014 Ole Miss versus Alabama game, hosts its very own watch party this Saturday. The game will be shown on multiple TVs stationed around the bar, and Funkys is offering patrons $4 Hotty Toddy’s and screwdrivers to sip on during the game.
