The Ole Miss volleyball team returns to action this evening as they take the floor in the Iowa State Invitational against the host school Iowa State. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.

Ole Miss (1-0) opened the 2018 season on Friday morning in the Iowa State Invitational against Virginia. The Rebels won the match 3-1 behind a strong performance by junior Emily Stroup with 21 kills, 11 digs and three aces.

This season, Ole Miss is playing a tougher schedule to give themselves more opportunities to get quality wins, according to head coach Steven McRoberts.

Iowa State opens the 2018 season ranked No. 21 in the preseason AVCA Poll. The Cyclones are coming off a 22-7 campaign last year and an appearance in the NCAA second round en route to a final ranking of No. 25.

Last season, they finished third in the Big 12 with an 11-5 mark and return nine letterwinners from last season, which was led by 2017 AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans Hali Hillegas and Jess Schaben.

Ole Miss will close out the tournament on Saturday, Aug. 25, with a match against Oregon State at Noon.
