Oxford Crime & Emergency Reports for Aug. 22, 2018

The following reports were made Aug. 22, 2018 by city and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise indicated.

Oxford Police Department issued 26 tickets, investigated 13 wrecks and the following reports:
1 abandoned vehicle
5 alarms
1 careless driving
2 civil matters
1 counterfeit currency
1 disorderly conduct
2 domestic disturbances
1 embezzlement
1 larceny
1 malicious mischief
1 motorist assist
2 suspicious activities
1 suspicious vehicle
2 welfare checks

OPD made the following arrests:
1 DUI
1 DUI and careless driving
1 DUI, no tail lights, no driver’s license, fake ID and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of a schedule 4 drug and no seat belt
1 public drunk

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated two wrecks, made one arrest for home repair fraud and investigated the following reports:
1 simple assault
1 alarm
2 animal complaints
1 residential burglary (CR 517)
1 disturbance
2 harassments
1 malicious mischief
3 service calls
3 suspicious activities
3 welfare concerns
3 transports
3 informational reports
2 follow-ups
2 road obstructions
1 civil matter
2 assistance calls
15 papers served

University Police Department conducted 20 traffic stops and investigated the following reports:
1 suspicious person
1 vehicle burglary
1 trespassing
1 loud music
1 reckless driving

Oxford Fire Department reports were unavailable Thursday.
At 11:10 a.m. to South Oxford Center, formerly known as Baptist Memorial Center, after someone pulled an alarm in the garage
At 12:40 p.m. to Beta Theta Pi after workers activated a smoke detector
8:02 p.m. to the Kappa Delta house after a hair straightener activated a smoke detector
