The Oxford Chargers unveiled a new piece of art to the wall of their field house house last Thursday night. The coaching staff added the wooden O-bolt to the wall near the locker room.

“We want our players to take pride in our program,” Oxford head coach Chris Cutcliffe said. “So we tried to make this building as nice as we can.”

“Our ninth grade coach, Joe Sabatier is good friends with a guy who does custom furniture. We talked to him about building us an O-bolt to put up on the wall and then put the led lights on the back of it,” Cutcliffe said.

The new O-Bolt is lit with LED lights from behind, Cutcliffe said. It is located on the second floor of the Oxford School District field house. Photo by Talbert Toole.

The players love to see it upon walking in, Cutcliffe said.

Oxford returns to the gridiron Friday night in their home opener against the Starkville Yellow Jackets in the annual Little Egg Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
