Ole Miss’ senior forward CeCe Kizer was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday.

Kizer led the league in both goals and points after one week of games. This is the second time that she has been named the league’s offensive player of the week, earning the same honor after the opening week of the 2017 season.

Kizer was a huge factor in the Rebels’ two victories during the week, playing a part in half of Ole Miss’ 10 goals scoring four and assisting on another. The senior’s four goals and nine points were both tops in the conference despite only playing 89 minutes across two matches.

The Overland Park, Kansas native recorded an assist in the second minute against Louisiana and the final point in a 6-0 victory. Against Western Kentucky, she netted a hat-trick in the Rebels 4-0 win.

On Friday, Ole Miss will have its first true road test of the season against the Golden Gophers of Minnesota at 7 p.m. in Minneapolis. The Rebels will then turnaround and host Murray State Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.
