The start of a new season to Ole Miss football is right around the corner with kickoff versus Texas Tech in eyesight. However, the demand for tickets isn’t as high as it was last year.
Ole Miss has currently sold a total of 43,951 tickets (down 16 percent from 2017) to home games this season, said Wesley Owen, associate athletics director for resource development. The 2017 season saw 54,118 season tickets sold at this time last year.
“We renewed at an 85 percent rate,” Owen said. “Therefore, 37,358 were renewed and 6,593 are new. The new number is larger than expected because it includes new students that have purchased student season tickets for the first time.”
Ole Miss will host Southern Illinois as they lock the Vaught for the first time in 2018 on Sept. 8.
