The Oxford Police Department arrested an Ole Miss track and field team member Saturday and charged him with sexual assault.
According to OPD, officers responded to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi for a report of a sexual assault. After interviewing the alleged victim, Courtland Barnes, 21, of Oxford was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Barnes turned himself into the OPD and was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $10,000 bond.
According to the Ole Miss Athletics website, Barnes is on the track and field team and would be a junior this coming school year.
