The Tupelo Main Street Association was awarded a grant from the Mississippi Main Street Association, which has allowed the organization to receive assistance from the National Main Street Association.
The grant provides the city with assistance in refreshing the city of Tupelo’s downtown district. The last time the city was awarded this type of assistance was approximately 25 years ago, according to Reagan Pepper, a TMSA program associate.
Twenty-five years ago, when the city was awarded the assistance, the downtown’s Master Plan was developed.
“We have now met the goals of that original plan,” Pepper stated in a press release. “So it is time for a new one.”
The association hopes that the visit from the NMSC will help the organization lay the groundwork for Downtown Tupelo’s future.
