HomeGoods is coming to Oxford.
The discount home furnishing store will be located in the Oxford Galleria II shopping center, next to Old Navy, according to John H. Trezevant, president and CEO of Trezevant Realty Corporation.
The store is the sister company of Marshalls, which is also located in the shopping center.
“Marshalls has been open about a year and a half and since they’re doing as well as they are doing, they decided to bring in a second one of their stores into our complex, which is HomeGoods,” Trezevant said Wednesday afternoon.
HomeGoods, which will be 20,200-square feet, will be located next to Old Navy, which is expected to open this fall.
The popular store offers discount values on a broad array of giftware, furniture, lamps, rugs, accessories and seasonal merchandise.
Trezevant said some additional work needs to be completed on the building before HomeGoods can move in.
“We’ll deliver it over to them probably around late December, early January, and they will open in the spring,” he said.
Galleria II is now 80 percent rented. All of the larger department store areas have been leased.
“We have three smaller buildings available and a little bit of in-line space still open,” he said.
When finished, Galleria II will have 217,000 square feet of retail stores and restaurants.
“We have a lot more interest than we have space,” he said. “But we’re being pretty particular with the merchants we’re putting in there. We want the best of the best and we think we got it with the lineup we have now.”
HomeGoods is one of several chains operating under TJX Companies, including T.J. Max, Sierra Trading Post and Marshalls.
Oxford Galleria II, LLC, is owned by John H. Trezevant and the James E. Davis Family Trust.
Trezevant Realty Corporation, which has offices in Germantown, Tenn. and Oxford, is acting as developer, leasing agent and asset management for the project.
