Oxford Police Department investigated four wrecks, issued 11 tickets and investigated the following reports:

2 careless driving complaints
1 disturbing the peace
2 K9 searches
1 petty theft
1 shoplifting
5 suspicious activities
1 vehicle search
1 welfare check
OPD made the following arrests:
1 disorderly conduct
2 for domestic violence with simple assault
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and no seat belt
1 public drunk and disorderly conduct
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following reports:
1 alarm
3 animal complaints
1 disturbance
1 harassment
1 juvenile complaint
1 malicious mischief
4 service calls
1 suspicious activity
2 welfare concerns
3 transports
2 trespassing
1 information
1 reckless driving
1 court detail
6 road obstructions
2 civil matters
3 assistance calls
1 natural cause death
6 papers served
LCSD made the following arrests:
1 enticement of a child to meet for sexual purposes
1 receiving stolen property
1 bond surrender
University Police Department made no arrests and investigated two wrecks and a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
1:28 p.m. – St. John’s Catholic Church – dust from sweeping activated a smoke detector
2:02, 3:05 and 11:43 p.m. – 1003 Jefferson Ave. Barksdale Reading Institute – smoke detector malfunction
4 p.m. – 152 Oxford Creek – call cancelled
8:29 p.m. – Coulter Hall – alarm panel said alarm system malfunction
9:10 p.m. – Ole Miss Track and Field building – water got in a smoke detector causing activation
