Oxford Crime Reports for July 13-15, 2018

The following reports were made Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15, 2018, by city and county law enforcement agencies. 
Oxford Police Department investigated nine wrecks, issued 23 tickets, made one arrest for disturbing the peace and responded to the following calls:
2 911 hang-ups
16 alarms
2 ambulance assists
1 animal complaint
2 careless driving complaints
1 civil matter
10 distubing the peace
2 domestic disturbances
6 fire department assists
2 harassments
2 lost properties
2 malicious mischief complaints
2 motorist assists
1 noise violation-vehicle
5 petty thefts
2 public drunks
1 recovered property
1 scam
11 suspicious vehicles
8 suspicious persons
5 suspicious vehicles
1 trespassing
3 utility call out
2 vehicle searches
5 welfare checks
OPD made the following arrests:
1 DUI and no insurance
1 no driver’s license and no seat belt
1 possession of schedule 4 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving
3 public drunks
1 warrant served
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:
2 simple assaults
10 alarms
2 animal complaints
1 auto burglary
1 residential burglary (CR 181)
2 disturbances
1 domestic violence
2 petit larceny
1 harassment
2 juvenile complaints
2 service calls
4 suspicious activity/persons
12 welfare concerns
1 scam
3 transports
1 trespassing
4 information
4 follow-ups
1 traffic complaint
5 reckless driving
4 road obstruction
5 civil matters
5 assist
2 disturbing the peace
29 papers served
LCSD made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence with simple assault
1 disorderly conduct
1 contempt of court
1 petty theft and public drunk
1 public drunk
1 aggravated assault, felon with a firearm and indictment
University Police Department made no arrests and investigated the following reports:
2 disturbances
2 medical calls
4 suspicious activities
1 vehicle stop
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
7/13 – 11:03 a.m. – Walmart bus stop – male passed out – EMS already on scene
7/13 – 4:39 p.m.- 915 Buchanan – smoke detector malfunction
7/13 – 8:16 and 10:33 p.m. – Faser Hall – water flow alarm malfunction
7/14 – 12:18 a.m. – The Blake – resident with chest pains – EMS already on scene
7/14 – 5:16 a.m. – Oxford Health and Rehab – medical call – monitored vitals until EMS arrived
7/14 – 7:51 a.m. – Faser Hall – 3rd call water flow alarm malfunction
7/14 – 9:46 a.m. – 410 South 9th Street – blood sugar problems – stood by for EMS
7/14 – 8:13 p.m. – The Domain pool area – gas grill fire
7/15 – 12:17 a.m. – State Veterans Home RM. 116 – heat duct detector malfunction
7/15 – 12:59 a.m. – The Archives No. 403 – resident left a pot on the stove smoking up the apt. 
7/15 – 1:13 a.m. – Faser Hall – 4th time – water flow alarm
7/15 – 3:27 a.m. – Faulkner Flats – wreck with no entrapment
7/15 – 6:46 a.m. – 634 N. Lamar – no alarm present upon arrival
7/15 – 3:35 a.m.- Kappa Delta House – alarm activation due to power outage
7/15 – 12:14 p.m.- Holiday Inn room 210 – electrical outlet sparking
7/16 – 4:35 this morning – Ole Miss Gold Course – smoke detector malfunction
