The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association recently announced its music lineup for the 10th Annual Down on Main free summer concert series in Fairpark.
The concert series will showcase a series of local artists from surrounding areas including the Eric Deaton Trio, The Sunday Red and Oxford All-Stars, to name a few.
“When choosing musicians for Down on Main, we really like to showcase local talent,” said Reagan Pepper, program associate of Tupelo Main Street.
The artists chosen for this year’s concert series are a part of the blues, rock and country genres. Those genres have had the biggest response, Pepper said.
This year Tupelo Main Street has partnered with Councilwoman Nettie Davis and multiple other key contributors to the Tupelo community for the September Down on Main concert, in conjunction with the Communities Forward Festival.
“Communities Forward celebrates positive relationships between Tupelo’s citizens and the Tupelo Police Department,” Pepper said. “By combining it with Down on Main, we’re providing Tupelo with an all-inclusive event that promotes both equality and diversity, which is something that we constantly strive for. Downtown Tupelo is for everyone; that’s the message we’re constantly trying to spread.”
The concert series is free to all attendees with food and beverages available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
