Oxford Crime Reports for July 3 & 4, 2018
The following reports were made Tuesday, July 3, 2018 and Wednesday, July 4, 2018, by city and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise indicated.
Oxford Police Department investigated four wrecks, issued 38 tickets and responded to the following calls:
1 911 hang-up
8 alarms
2 ambulance assists
2 animal complaints
1 burglary
3 careless driving complaints
2 civil matters
1 code enforcement
2 discharging fireworks in the city
2 disturbing the peace complaints
1 domestic disturbance
2 fire department assists
1 forgery
3 improper parking complaints
2 K9 searches
1 larceny
2 lost properties
1 motorist assist
1 open door
1 simple assault
6 suspicious activities
3 suspicious people
2 vehicle searches
2 welfare checks
OPD made the following arrests:
1 DUI, child endangerment by DUI, careless driving, no insurance and failure to comply with officers
1 DUI and speeding
1 minor in possession of alcohol, expired tag and running a stop sign
1 possession of a schedule 1 drug, possession of a schedule 4 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of a schedule 3 drugs, possession of a schedule 4 drug, warrant served and careless driving
1 possession of marijuana with intent, no driver’s license and window tint violation
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and no headlights
1 public drunk
1 suspended driver’s license and speeding
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated two wrecks and the following reports:

1 reckless driving

LCSD made the following arrests:
1 touching of a child for lustful purposes
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
1 DUI
1 burglary
University Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious person, petty theft, vandalism and four wrecks.
Oxford Fire Department responded at:
10:29 a.m. Wednesday to Starbucks for a carbon monoxide detector malfunction
2:53 p.m. Wednesday to the old Baptist hospital for a smoke detector malfunction
3:56 p.m. Wednesday to 216 Bramlett Blvd. for a smoke detector malfunction
4:23 p.m. Wednesday to The Connection for a medical call
12:43 this morning to Oxford Health and Rehab for a patient having trouble breathing
