Oxford Crime Reports for June 29-July 1, 2018

The following reports were made Friday-Sunday, June 29-July 1, 2018 by city and county law enforcement agencies. 
Oxford Police Department investigated eight wrecks, issued 34 tickets and responded to the following calls:
2 911 hang-ups
18 alarms
4 ambulances
2 animal complaints
2 careless driving complaints
1 credit card fraud
5 disturbing the peace complaints
2 domestic disturbances
4 fire department assists
1 harassment
1 K9 search
1 malicious mischief
2 motorist assists
2 other agency assists
1 recovered property
1 shoplifting
4 suspicious activities
3 suspicious people
1 suspicious vehicle
2 welfare check
OPD made the following arrests:
2 for domestic violence with simple assault
1 DUI and careless driving
1 DUI, careless driving and open container
1 no driver’s license, no seat belt, possession of a schedule 2 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, no insurance and improper parking
1 possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of a scheduled 2 drug, no driver’s license, expired tag and no insurance
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated seven wrecks and the following reports:
1 simple assault
5 alarms
5 animal complaints
1 residential burglary on CR 521
4 disturbances
1 domestic violence
3 petty thefts
2 juvenile complaints
6 service calls
6 suspicious activities
7 welfare checks
1 scam
1 trespassing
5 informational reports
1 follow-up
1 unauthorized use of a vehicle
1 fraud
2 reckless drivers
2 road obstructions
5 civil matters
4 assists
1 disturbing the peace
16 summons served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made two arrests on the following charges:
1 public drunk
1 DUI-third
University Police Department investigated three wrecks, investigated two reports of trespassing, responded to two medical calls and a call about a suspicious person.
Oxford Fire Department responded at:
At 10:59 a.m. Friday to Campus Walk after workers knocked a sprinkler head off activating the water flow alarm
At 11:01 a.m. Friday to Faulkner Flats for an alarm activated during testing
At 11:44 a.m. Friday to Chow King for a medical call
At 12:39 p.m. Saturday to 1001 Van Buren for the smell of gas; no cause found
At 9:03 p.m. Saturday to Crosby Hall for a smoke detector malfunction
At 11:35 p.m. Saturday to Oxford Health and Rehab for the smell of gas; pilot light went out on the stove
At 1:21 a.m. Sunday to CB Webb apartments after a resident left something on the stove and caused the apartment to fill with smoke
At 11:18 a.m. Sunday to 800 College Hill Road for a smoke detector malfunction
At 8:18 p.m. Sunday to CR 104 for a wreck with no entrapment
At 9:40 p.m. Sunday to the Highway 7 and Highway 30 intersection for a wreck with entrapment
At 3:20 a.m. To Crosby Hall for a smoke detector malfunction
