The following reports were made Monday, June 25, by city and county law enforcement agencies.
Oxford Police Department investigated three wrecks, issued 30 tickets and responded to the following calls:
1 911 hang up
6 alarms
1 animal complaint
4 careless driving reports
1 discharging a firearm in the city limits
1 disturbing the peace
1 domestic disturbance
1 false pretense
1 K9 search
2 public drunks
2 scam
4 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
1 suspicious vehicle
1 welfare check
OPD made the following arrests:
1 for DUI and possession of a fake ID
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, no tag, no insurance and warrant served
1 for shoplifting
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated two wrecks and the following reports:

3 suspicious activity/persons
2 welfare concerns

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests:
1 for no driver’s license, no seat belt, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a fake ID
1 for contempt of court
1 chancery writ to take into custody
University Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person, a medical call and issued three citations during a traffic stop.
Oxford Fire Department responded at:
1:18 p.m. to Baptist Memorial Hospital but canceled en route
1:35 p.m. to Swayze Field after construction workers knocked a pull station alarm off the wall
6:45 this morning to YMCA for a report of the smell of gas; no cause found
