Crime Reports for June 22-24, 2018

The following reports were made Friday-Sunday, June 22-24, by city and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise indicated.
Oxford Police Department investigated 13 wrecks, issued 74 tickets and responded to the following calls:
15 alarms
4 ambulance calls
2 animal complaints
3 careless driving complaints
2 civil matters
4 disturbing the peace
1 domestic disturbance
3 fire department assists
3 K9 searches
1 malicious mischief
1 motorist assist
1 other agency assist
1 phone harassment
1 residential burglary
1 simple assault
11 suspicious activities
4 suspicious persons
3 suspicious vehicles
1 vehicle search
6 welfare checks
OPD made the following arrests:
1 for domestic violence with simple assault
2 for DUI and careless driving
1 for DUI, expired tag, no driver’s license and no insurance
1 for DUI and no tag
1 for DUI, speeding, careless driving and no tag
1 for DUI and driving the wrong way on a one-way street
1 for false pretense
1 for no driver’s license, no insurance and switched tag
1 for possession of marijuana in a vehicle and one headlight
2 for possession of drug paraphernalia
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and no seat belt
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia and no tag
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, warrant served, no seat belt and no child restraint
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia and running a stop sign
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:

3 residential burglaries (CR 106, CR 428, CR 102)
5 disturbances
2 petit larceny
1 harassment
10 service calls
2 suspicious activity/persons
1 vandalism
3 welfare concerns

2 traffic complaints

1 reckless driving
3 road obstruction

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests:
1 bench warrant
1 for disorderly conduct
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia
University Police Department responded to reports of larceny, a report of a robbery at the Inn at Ole Miss and a disturbance call.
Oxford Fire Department responded at:
10:46 a.m. Friday to 2307 Kennedy Street to remove smoke from a house after a cooking fire
4:04 a.m. Saturday to Coulter Hall after someone pulled an alarm as a prank
3:16 p.m. Saturday to Esplanade Ridge after a plastic food container top melted in a dishwasher
7:09 p.m. Saturday to 410 Jackson Ave. E. for smoke detectors beeping
7:52 p.m. Saturday to Bramlett Avenue for an unfounded report of the smell of gas
10:49 p.m. Saturday to Northgate apartments for smoke detector malfunction
6:24 and 10:06 a.m. Sunday to Starbucks for alarm malfunction
5:04 p.m. Sunday to The Links for an EMS assist
5:51 p.m. Sunday to 107 Mulberry Lane for smoke detector malfunction
6:19 p.m. Sunday to 921 Hayes Drive for a power line down
11:27 p.m. Sunday to Wilsonart for a water flow alarm malfunction
