Daily Crime Reports for Monday, June 18
The following reports were made Monday, June 18 by city and county law enforcement agencies.
Oxford Police Department investigated four wrecks, issued 12 tickets and responded to the following calls:
2 911 hang-ups
4 alarms
1 burglary
1 careless driving
1 civil matter
1 credit card fraud
1 disturbing the peace
1 motorist assist
1 petty theft
1 reported gunshots
3 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
1 welfare check
OPD made the following arrests:
1 speeding, expired tag and suspended license
1 DUI, careless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 DUI, careless driving and no headlights
4 for shoplifting
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:
3 alarms
1 vehicle burglary
1 grand left
3 suspicious activities
2 welfare checks
1 follow-up
1 fraud
2 civil matters
12 papers served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests:
1 disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful command
1 attempted kidnapping, indecent exposure
University Police Department responded to two wrecks, conducted two traffic stops and performed one traffic detail
Oxford Fire Department responded to Northgate Apartments at 8:56 a.m. for a smoke detector; Deaton Hall at 6:41 p.m. for alarm malfunction; and Skymart at 10:20 p.m. for a dumpster fire
