Passes for 11th Annual Deep Blues Festival Now on Sale
The Deep Blues Festival in Clarksdale, a mere hop, skip and jump from Oxford, announced its schedule earlier this week.
The 11th annual festival is set for Oct. 11-14, and festival organizers said they are planning for this year’s event to be the biggest yet.
“We run the gamut from young rockers to old souls,” said festival co-organizer Robin Colonas. “We’ve got the roots and the fruits — blues, gospel, rock ‘n roll.”
The lineup includes RL Boyce, Adia Victoria, Big George Brock, Bob Log III, Avin “Youngblood” Hart & Muscle Theory, James Leg, Molly Gene One Whoaman Band, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, Monsieur Jeffrey Evans & His Southern Aces, Robert “Lil Poochie” Watson & Hezekiah Early, Psychotic Reaction, Reverend John Wilkins and more. Musicians will grace stages at the Juke Joint Chapel at the Shack Up Inn and the New Roxy, both in downtown Clarksdale.
“The four day passes are on track to sellout, so I’m telling fans not to wait,” said festival assistant Roger Stolle. “DBF isn’t one of those ‘sea of humanity’ fests out in a big open field, it’s more like a secret music party for fans in the know. The stages are intimate and the tickets are limited.”
