Davis Adds Connor Walsh to Men's Basketball Staff
Ole Miss men’s basketball head coach Kermit Davis announced Tuesday the addition of Connor Walsh to his staff. Walsh will serve as the team’s assistant director of on-campus recruiting.
Walsh spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
“We are excited to have Connor join our staff,” said Davis. “He is a very talented, young, aspiring coach that comes from an outstanding VCU program. His exceptional energy, brightness and creativity will add great value to our staff.”
Walsh will coordinate and oversee all on-campus recruiting activities for the Ole Miss men’s basketball program. While preparing itineraries for official and unofficial visits, he will schedule and organize meetings with staff members and coaches related to campus recruiting activities. Walsh will also assist coaches with recruiting travel, as well as help organize events like camps and banquets.
“I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Coach Kermit Davis on a tremendous coaching staff,” Walsh said. “The leadership of Ole Miss, from Chancellor Jeff Vitter and Vice Chancellor of Intercollegiate Athletics Ross Bjork, will help take this great program to new heights at the highest level of college basketball. I’m so excited to start this journey at Ole Miss and can’t wait for Rebel Nation to pack The Pavilion this year.”
During his time at VCU, Walsh assisted in player development, video operations and opponent scouting as the Rams advanced to the NCAA Tournament. He designed a variety of print and digital materials including graphics and video used for recruiting. During his time there, Walsh earned his master’s specializing in sports leadership.
Walsh received his undergraduate in hospitality in sport and tourism management from Troy University, where he served as a student manager for the men’s basketball team. Aside from his duties around the facility and managing team equipment, he also operated the team’s social media account and designed recruiting graphics.
