A terrific season came to an end in game seven of the Oxford Regional for the Ole Miss Rebels against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles as they fell 3-2.

Ole Miss (48-17) jumped out to an early lead in the sixth inning as Grae Kessinger lead off with a solo home run into the bullpen in left. Two batters later, the Rebels started stringing together base knocks from Nick Fortes, Thomas Dillard and Cole Zabowski. Fortes scored on the hit by Zabowski and Will Golsan got aboard by drawing a walk. The Rebels took a 2-0 lead in the game.
The Rebels starter, Jordan Fowler, held the Golden Eagles batters at bay through five innings. Tennessee Tech responded quickly with a two-spot of their own off the bat of Trevor Putzig in the sixth.
Fowler’s night came to a close in the sixth after he worked 5.1 giving up two runs on five hits. He struck out two and allowed two walks.
Coach Mike Bianco brought Houston Roth out of the pen after the two-run dinger. Roth worked .2 of an inning and allowed one run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Kevin Strohschein that plated the eventual winning run in John Ham.
The Rebels brought in Parker Caracci in the seventh and he was able to keep the Golden Eagles off the board.
Ole Miss got runners on first base in both the eighth and ninth innings but were unable to score.
Tennessee Tech wins the Oxford Regional and advances to the Super Regional against the Texas Longhorns.
