Diamond Rebels Fall to Auburn in SEC Tournament

The No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels fall to the Auburn Tigers 9-3 in the second-round of the SEC Tournament on Wednesday.
Ole Miss (42–15) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning off of an error that got Ryan Olenek to second base which scored Jacob Adams and Grae Kessinger.
The Rebels’ ace LHP Ryan Rolison was untouchable by the Tigers’ hitters through the first six innings of the game. Rolison finished the day going 6.1 innings giving up 2 runs, on 3 hits, allowing 3 walks while striking out 6 Auburn sluggers.
In the seventh inning, Auburn got to Rolison and began their comeback plating two runs on a double. The Tigers took the lead on a pass ball that scored a runner from third.
Auburn tacked on two more runs in the eighth, off of a double down the left field line.
Ole Miss made a charge to comeback in the bottom of the inning as Adams got aboard followed by a double off the bat of Kessinger. Olenek brought home Adams on a sacrifice-fly that would be the Rebels final run of the game.
In the ninth, Auburn put the game out of reach with a grand slam home run.
Ole Miss moves to the losers bracket to face the Georgia Bulldogs at 9:30 a.m. (Thursday) on the SEC Network.
