Rebels Ink Curry to Play for Ole Miss
The excitement of the 2018-2019 men’s basketball season is on the rise as Ole Miss coach Kermit Davis announced the addition of Carlos Curry. Curry signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Rebels for the upcoming season.
“A 6-foot-11, 240-pound forward who can really run and has great hands, Carlos has a very high skill level for his size and has the ability to step out to the three-point line,” said head coach Kermit Davis. “We look forward to getting Carlos to campus soon for summer workouts to adapt to our high tempo of practice. He is a great young man who comes from an excellent family.”
The Albany Georgia native is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Averaging over 15 points per game, 10 rebounds per game and five blocks per game as a senior, Curry was named all-state honorable mention by Sandy’s Spiel. He also earned GHSA Region 1-3A Second Team accolades while helping lead his team to the state playoffs. Competing at Dougherty Comprehensive High School, Curry was a first team all-area honoree and defensive player of the year.
Curry averaged 11 points per game with nine rebounds as a junior. He is bringing a 7-foot-3 to Oxford, the big man will provide depth to the Rebels’ frontcourt. Curry joins KJ Buffen, Blake Hinson and Franco Miller as part of the 2018 class signed by Davis, who enters his first season as Ole Miss head coach.
