Oxford Elementary Displays Art for Local Bank
First grade students at Oxford Elementary School created original art for the grand opening of Paragon Bank in Oxford, Mississippi. This project was led by Mary Kinney, first grade teacher at OES, and Nicole Gist, Art Teacher at OES, who outlined and oversaw the painting during Art class time.
“Since this was the first branch to open in Oxford and it being on The Square, Mrs. Gist and I felt that we needed to have a piece that incorporated the things we love about our town. The students loved being able to use different mediums to put their own personal touch on the painting, from the tissue paper tree to the clock tower set at the time of “Kin’s” birthday. We wanted it to have a personal touch for everyone involved,” Mary Kinney stated.
Kin Kinney, Bank President at the Oxford branch and Lindsey Faust, Mortgage Consultant accepted the pieces of art today from the OES first graders. Paragon Bank will proudly display the locally-inspired art pieces for their grand opening on May 31st and thereafter for their patrons to enjoy.
