Oxford-based Neckglasses LLC, known for its fashionable reading glasses in a variety of styles, will be featured on Good Morning America Thursday morning, May 17.

Neckglasses LLC, an Oxford-based designer and manufacturer of fashionable reading glasses, will be spotlighted on Good Morning America (GMA) Thursday, May 17, as part of the ABC-TV morning show’s popular “Steals & Deals” segment.
GMA’s Tory Johnson features unique, high-quality products from leading brands at deeply discounted prices in “Steals & Deals.” The segment will air around 8:20 a.m. Thursday in every time zone across the U.S.
The upscale Neckglasses readers ordinarily retail for $30 per pair, but GMA will offer them for $10 each through midnight Thursday.
Neckglasses was founded by Dianna Seddon of Oxford and her sister-in-law, Karen Ganovsky of Windermere, Fla. Both women needed reading glasses for limited use—such as for perusing menus in dimly lit restaurants—but realized they were constantly losing the cheap pairs they purchased in local stores.
Additionally, as Seddon noted in a May 2017 interview with HottyToddy.com, most reading glasses are more functional than fashionable. “When you go out to dinner or shopping, the last thing you want to do is pull out a pair of ugly readers or fumble around in your purse for a pair of glasses that you only need for a second,” she said. “We came up with the idea that we could create attractive readers to wear around your neck that don’t look like readers until you need them.”

With the Neckglasses design called the Karen, a single movement brings the necklace’s pendant to the eyes for use as eyewear.

With that in mind, the two entrepreneurs designed an array of eyeglasses that combine the elements of fashionable jewelry with the functionality of eyewear. One design, called the Dianna, is a stylish locket that opens with a quick click and transforms into reading glasses. Another design, the Karen, doubles as an elegant pendant that’s both effective and aesthetically pleasing.

Ella Seddon, a 9th-grader at Oxford High School, displays the Neckblessings style of Neckglasses in the shape of a cross.

Designs are available for both men and women. All of them are named after family members and close friends.
After getting their company up and running, Ganovsky reached out to Good Morning America about having Neckglasses featured on the show. “We were delighted when they notified us a few months ago and said they wanted to showcase our product,” Seddon said. “We’re told they will sell fast, so we’re really excited to see how it goes.”
