Stores that sell beer and liquor around Oxford have been busy this spring. First it was Double Decker, then Cinco De Mayo and now they’ll finish off with graduation. Jackson Beer Co. owner, Alan Jackson, has already been getting calls to pre-order kegs for graduation weekend.
“You can order kegs right now for graduation weekend,” said Jackson. “The more time we have in advance the better.”
Jackson says the store is working on creating Ole Miss alumni discounts for the newly graduated and hopes to put together a food and beer pairing sampling event as well. Employee Steven Oswalt says he especially enjoys the opportunity to assist people in learning about something he too, loves.
“I just honestly like watching people try new beers and like helping them branch out and explore,” said Oswalt.
If you do wait till the last minute to get your graduation brews, Jackson says he’s prepared.
“Some kegs we will keep in stock for graduation weekend just for last-minute purchases,” said Jackson.
Though he does have a word of warning.
“It’s going to be first come first serve with any extra kegs we have.”
